Orange tetra attacked help!?

Hi my friends orange tetra was attacked by a red tailed shark, and the shark tore off the end of his tail. I switched him over to my small tank with a female beta. He is laying on the ground but he is still breathing and every now and then he will swim up to the top and then back down again. Is there anything i can do for it?
