Why doesn't God provide guidance on modern day issues, like He did on Bronze and Iron Age issues?

Shouldn't God be coming out with a new New Testament to address such modern day issues as abortion, cloning, stem cell research, nuclear power, conservation of the environment, the war on terror, capitalism, civil rights, space exploration, life on other planets, and countless other issues that the Bible currently completely ignores?
