Does anyone elses 6 year old talk like this? How do you cope.?

My son is 7 and he does ramble on and on at times, and I try to be patient but it does grate on my nerves. And it does give me headaches, too! He goes on and on about a Spongebob episode, giving me the full 30 minute recap (even if I saw the episode with him!)and then goes on to tell me every possible thing, and if he thinks i'm not listening he asks me to repeat what he just said. the boy can go on for hours and I cant get a word in edgewise if I try. I am a quiet person, he gets this from his dad who does the same thing, talking fo rhours about a single golf game, detailing every shot until my head wants to explode. I had to implicate a quiet time in my house for peace of mind.
