Hip hop or house/disco music?

Me and my friend were talking about music, and i'm a hugh hip hop fan. He likes hip hop just as much as me. But then he said i like house music just as much as hip hop. When i heard that i was like whoa slow down, that is not possible! haha. but what do you guys think? do you think house music is cool? could it be better than hip hop?
